Can you insulate under an existing metal roof?
Usually, yes — either by overboarding with a warm-roof layer when the covering is renewed, or from below where access and structure permit. Survey first; the written quote names the exact build-up.
Will insulation stop my metal roof being noisy?
A correct build-up — insulation, acoustic layer and ventilated cavity — makes a metal roof no louder than any other. If an existing roof is loud, the build-up is wrong and can often be improved.
What insulation do you use on metal roofs?
Kingspan-type rigid PIR and Rockwool/Knauf mineral wool, chosen for fire rating, depth and U-value target — named in the written specification.
